Welcome

The purpose of this site is to provide information on the club and teams to players, parents, friends and relatives or anyone interested in becoming involved with the club. The club has an extensive range of youth teams ranging from under 6`s to under 18`s and provides quality football coaching and playing opportunities for young footballers in the area. This allows our players to enjoy a safe, fun, learning and playing environment in order that they can develop their skills, keep fit and active and have fun.

The common values of fair play, enjoyment and respect for all other participants is a common theme that runs through the club.

The Club is indebted to it’s many local sponsors’ and is totally reliant on them and the effort and time the coaches spend developing players by organising training and matches.

It would be nice to think that within the Club is the next David James waiting to progress to play football for England!

The Club has been awarded the prestigious FA Charter Standard Club of the Year Award for 2009 and prides itself on the fact that more than 30 managers and coaches hold FA Coaching Certificates. The number grows every year as each new intake of enthusiastic and excited 5 year olds requires more equally enthusiastic and excited Mums or Dads to earn their coaching badge!

About

Panshanger F.C exists to provide junior football for players from the Under 6 age group up to the Under 18 age group. It is run exclusively by volunteers who are prepared to give time and effort to ensure that no player in the area is excluded from playing football.

In any one year the club may have up to 400 registered players, which makes it one of the largest junior clubs. Running a club takes a good deal of organisation and we always welcome new volunteers.

The club itself takes players from U6 to U18. U6/U7 receive training only. From U8 onwards most teams play in the MHRML although, occasionally, teams seek to play in other Leagues. This is normally possible but does make life a little more complicated for the manager. As the club has grown over the years it attracted more players than could normally be managed and it was therefore split into two groups - Whites and Yellows. From 2009 however, in the Club`s 40th Anniversary year, the club became united as one Club, and reverted to playing in it`s original green strip, and still using names from the "Big Cat" family, such as Lions, Tigers, Panthers and Pumas.

Panshanger Football Club and the MHRML is affiliated to the Herts F.A.

TRAINING FACILITIES AND LEAGUE COMPETITIONS

Training facilities are provided each week under the supervision of the team managers. While the evenings remain light, the teams generally train outside, and during the winter months train inside, in the large hail or on the all weather floodlit training area outside.

All teams play at the weekend, with occasional evening matches at the start and end of each season Different teams participate in a variety of local leagues and will also be entered in additional recognised competitions.

FINANCIAL POSITION

The Club is a voluntary youth organisation and is financially self supporting.

In order that no one should be excluded, the players subscriptions are kept as low as possible, with other fundraising events run to meet the needs of the boys football. The Club hopes that every player and parent will make an individual effort at the end of each season in the various organised fundraising events. All managers and Club officials undertake their tasks voluntarily.

THE CLUB THANKS

The many individuals who support and help the Club to run in so many different ways.

The Youth and Community Services, Welwyn/Hatfield District Council for their help, advice and encouragement.
