I disagree. Charlottesville does Restaurant Week very well, in fact much better than Richmond! It's great to see new places being added, especially the Bavarian Chef. I don't know how you are able to eat for $26 there....it's regular menu is much pricier than some of the other places involved in Restaurant Week. Not to mention it is DELICIOUS. Hearty, cream and alcohol laded deliciousness!

Last night I tried Brookville for the first time and was very impressed. Very pork heavy menu, but the chef knows what to do with it and it shows! Tonight is Fossett's, again for the first time. Hope everyone has been eating well this week!

I think Restaurant Week is a great concept but very poorly executed in Charlottesville. There should be a second tier price for some of the restaurants that slipped in this January like Melting Pot and Bavarian Chef where you can eat regularly for $26.

I went to Al Dente last night and was incredibly disappointed by the food and the service. Thank god I didn’t come here and order off of the regular menu. The mussels were good, the succotash crepes were mush, and the lamb looked and tasted like the Salisbury steak served on a continental flight or a high school cafeteria. It was paired with a mint risotto. I love mint and was intrigued by menu but it was terrible. It tasted like it was pasted in AquaFresh. Just because there were only 9 menu items total, they decided to send out waiter who didn’t speak English. We literally had to point at everything. It was just embarrassing for everyone. Horrible experience. Horrible restaurant.

Brasserie Montiel was a very nice surprise this past Wednesday. The service was quite attentive despite a very busy Restaurant Week crowd. I started with Duck Confit and Butternut Squash Ravioli, followed by the Veal Osso Bucco - buttery and flavorful! The dessert was Pecan Praline with ice cream - pretty good, but I wouldn't choose it again - probably just me. Overall, it was a positive experience.

We went to C&O last night... top notch service and delicious food (I will say, the bread was overdone and tougher than you'd like). We definitely left feeling fat and happy. Can't wait to return.
